The owners of this condo unit in The Ayers Building in Philadelphia wanted a clever centrepiece that was space sensitive and flexible. The designer, Chris Evans, came up with this inspiring design that situates the fireplace base on plastic sliders so that it is easily moved for cleaning, relocated to make more room for entertaining or to put the fireplace away in the warmer months. Importantly, the wheels lock down into position so that the flame is on a stable surface at all times.
